The Kelp Shack: A Private Coastal Dining Experience Amidst Nature
The Kelp Shack offers a private coastal dining experience, for small groups up to 16 people. Pre-bookings only, and booking in advance essential.
This small, intimate, rustic, outdoor venue is situated at one of the most beautiful and unique locations in the Cape. It is a tiny hidden gem that is surrounded by nature.
Come and spend a lunch or sunset event lingering over a delicious four-course kelp-inspired meal, prepared for you by chef Phil at The Kelp Shack, while exploring and learning about the history of the surrounding area.
Experience an array of kelp dishes, harvested fresh from the ocean by chef Phil himself. Watch and learn how kelp is incorporated into each dish! The menu is not set and Phil is happy to accommodate most dietary requests... yes, a fish braai is available!
The Kelpshack is not licensed so all alcohol is BYO.
This venue is child friendly, and has an optional offering of entertainment for the kids 😁. This can include a bird show, snake show and/or educational walk given by the esteemed Lappies, from the environmental centre, which is close by. Adults are more than welcome to take part in these interesting activities. There is a wealth of information to be shared about this intertidal zone, the local fauna and flora, and the ancient history of this exquisite coastline.
Finally, experience the sheer beauty as the sun sets over the horizon, before making your way home.
